The Great Fall of Authority :: Essays Papers
The Great F in all of AuthorityAs Alice journeys through Wonderland and Looking-glass Land, she encounters a variety of characters whose nonsensical assertions call into question her mum ontological assumptions. The strange logic these characters introduce to Alice forces her to acknowledge and reevaluate learned perceptions that she had previously accepted as objective truths. Because m all of Carrolls absurdities bear an hyperbolize but recognizable resemblance to observable phenomena in society, the paradoxically meaningful trash causes Alice (and the reader) to experience epiphanies about the nature of the phenomena Carroll satirizes. In this way, Carroll cleverly, and ironically, uses nonsense to raise consciousness. Specifically, Carroll employs nonsense in the Alice books to construct a satirical, dystopian view of consent. One example can be inferred from Alices humorous inability to remember her lessons, or memorized propaganda from schoolmasters (who book authority ove r knowledge). Because Alice suddenly cannot remember what these schoolmasters have forced her to learn, the lessons be consequently illustrated as useless and asinine, and the teachers as senseless, counterproductive and undeserving of the position of authority they have secured. Carroll ultimately ridicules authority figures, pedagogues in particular, through the character, Humpty Dumpty. His hyperbolic depiction of Humpty Dumpty as a narcissist, a pedant, and a charlatan exposes authority figures for what they often are unnecessary, and even disadvantageous.Humpty Dumptys narcissism is immediately apparent. As soon as Alice stumbles upon him, Humpty Dumpty proclaims his self-importance and implies Alices inferiority. He is extremely defensive and unwilling to consider any remark that he perceives as potentially criticizing, since he believes himself to be a superior creature. The egg therefore responds to Alices unintentionally insulting comments by ridiculing her, thereby shifti ng the negative attention to Alice so that he can preserve his inflated self image and gain control over the conversation. In accession to belittling Alice to demonstrate his power, Humpty Dumpty egregiously boasts about his connection with the King to illustrate his elite status. Humpty Dumptys arrogant behavior, including bragging about his affiliation with the King, can primarily be attributed to the power and authority he believes he deserves for being an intellectual. Humpty Dumpty clearly views himself as extraordinarily brilliant he is so inordinately intelligent that he knows the answers to all questions (232). While Humpty Dumpty knows everything, everyone else, particularly Alice, knows nothing Wrong Humpty Dumpty exclaims triumphantly.... You dont know what youre talking about (235, 237).

Philosophical Anthropology Essays -- Philosophy Essays
Philosophical AnthropologyABSTRACT Philosophers kittynot avoid addressing the question of whether philosophical anthropology (that is, specifically philosophical inquiry about sympathetic genius and human phenomenon) is possible. Any answer must be articulated in the context of the nature and function of philosophy. In other words, philosophical anthropology must be specify as an account of the nature of the subject of philosophical mentation. I argue that if philosophical thinkers admit that they are beings in nature, culture, and history, then the possibility of a unequivocally philosophical theory of human nature and human phenomenon should be discarded. Rather, philosophys catalytic and integrative role in human cognition should be stressed.Anthropological interests on the part of philosophers can be explained on different levels. Since thinking in general is reflective, philosophical thinkers must naturally be interested in dread the nature of humans, which they themselves are, including the nature of their own thinking. But non-philosophical theorists can also be reflective enough to seek an understanding of human nature and the nature of their trace thinking. On a deeper level, with their realization that cognitive functions including philosophical thinking are characteristically human, philosophers may come to reflect upon how such functions are conditioned by human conditions. But such conditions can be addressed by empirical sciences as well, sometimes with greater methodological care or sincerity than can be found among some philosophers, as in cognitive psychology or cultural anthropology. If, in the course of the development of philosophy as a discipline, human experience becomes the primary thematic ... ...y is partly explainable by different influences from outside philosophy. The juxtaposition and comparison of, for instance, the views of Aristotle, Aquinas, Descartes, Hume, Kant, Marx and Nietzsche on human nature should make us despai r of finding a philosophical essence of anthropological views. The distinct contribution that philosophy as a discipline can make to the understanding of humans is not so much special content or even a method as its ethos of valuing critical thinking and integration of human knowledge. Philosophical anthropology, as a special area of a unique discipline, should be held suspect. There only is a dimension to separately inquiry where many, if not all, of the questions philosophers raise are significant. English Translation of Chinese Neologisms from the Perspective
1. Introduction Language is dynamic. Every day there are new words coming into use in languages and there are umpteen others fading away from lexicon. Chinese, one of the oldest languages in the world, still possesses this dynamism. Language serves as a tool of communication and int whilection, thus it reflects the social changes, and meanwhile social changes sustain their expressions in language, which leads to the advent of neologisms. The appearances of new inventions, new technologies, new ideas and new social phenomena are capable of bringing neologisms into languages. In the twentieth speed of light, Chinese neologism has undergone three stages the starting line stage was from 1919, after the May 4th Movement the second stage was from the establishment of Peoples Republic of China to 1978 the third stage began with the polity of reform and opening-up. Entering into the new century, the development of society has hasted their paces and the communication between centuries bec omes more frequent. Language is witnessing the changes. During recent years, an increasing number of new words has been select into Chinese. Therefore, as the translator, he or she shoulders the responsibility of translating the new words properly in order to convey the Chinese culture to other countries, and this has proved to be a great challenge. Though there are many dictionaries and handbooks which study Chinese neologisms and the translation of Chinese neologisms, the study of neologism translation is far from enough. This thesis will discuss the translation strategies in order to accomplish the translation of Chinese neologisms efficiently by adopting the theoretical foundation of Eugene A.Nidas Functional Equivalence. Nida the fourth part discusses the respective translation strategies under the guidance of the translation theory. The 5th part talks about the existing problems in neologism translation and how to solve these problems.Last part is a conclusion of the whole thesis. Neologisms emerged in the new century especially new words of 2008 will be adopted as main examples, because they are endowed with fresher and richer contents and reflect the characteristics of new era more evidently. The examples and their translations are quoted mainly from China Daily, Global Times and official translation versions of political documents. 5 Stages of Team Development – Summary
Five Stages of Team Development celestial latitude 17, 2012 Abstract This paper will evaluate the five stages of team development Forming stage, Storming stage, Norming stage, do stage and Adjourning stage. twist effective, cohesive teams has never played such a pivotal role in a companys success as it does today. PI Worldwide 2010 Retrieved from http//www. piworldwide. com/Solutions/Leadership-Development/Team-Building. aspx on December 17, 2012. Team building is an important part of ensuring success within an organization. All the stages may not be used in both instance, however it is a guideline that, if used correctly, will ensure better communication, decision making, increased productivity and over alone success. PI Worldwide 2010 Retrieved from http//www. piworldwide. com/Solutions/Leadership-Development/Team-Building. aspx on December 17, 2012. I will evaluate each stage and compare it with real-life experiences to show how effective this system can be. Forming Stage The fo rming stage is where a throng of throng come together to work on a consider. In this initial stage of team development the members take a more formal approach to how they circulate with each other, there would be no clear idea of goals or expectations. Management Study Guide 2008-2010 Retrieved from http//www. managementstudyguide. com/team-development. htm on December 17, 2012. This stage reminds me of a project I was chosen to be part of. A group of us were chosen to develop a plan of action geared toward increasing unhurried satisfaction in the hospital, due to poor results from a survey taken.During this Forming stage, we took the time to get to know each other what our strengths were, and by doing this we were able-bodied to create a mission statement for the team and begin our creative process. Storming Stage The storming stage of team development is a period of high emotionality and tension among group members Organizational Behavior (Schermerhorn J 2012,pg. 156). Compet ition and resistance to the ideas offered by other team members begin to occur in this stage. Everyone wants their own ideas or that of their friend to be chosen. In my experience with team work, this stage is where member began to become more relaxed and sure of themselves, throwing ideas on the table and thinking their ideas are the best ones. Norming Stage In this stage, members bound to remember the reason they are there and re-focus on the task at hand. While enjoying a new sense of harmony, team members will strive to keep back positive balance Organizational Behavior (Schermerhorn J 2012, pg 156). Members begin to feel like they have perfected the ability to work in groups at this time, developing a premature sense of accomplishment. At this stage my team started putting a plan in place to revamp how patients are treated during their hospital visits. Performing Stage In this stage of development, the team becomes more mature and organized. They know what the goals of the tea m are and work together to achieve success. Team members are able to do their own problem solving since they are sure of themselves and what their duties are. Team members came together and all the ideas that we shared now became a plan of action to mend patient satisfaction at our Hospitals six facilities. Adjourning StageAt this stage team members learn to come together, get the job done quickly and go about their own business. Their willingness to disband when the job is done and to work well together in future responsibilities, team or otherwise, is a long-term quiz of team success. Organizational Behavior (Schermerhorn J 2012, pg 157) The five stages of team development really helped me to put the process of team work in perspective. Knowing what these stages all means and represents, gives me a better understanding of how to organize projects and what stage we are at in any given project.

The Importance And Advantages Of Oleochemical Industry Environmental Sciences Essay
Oleochemicals which is the chemical merchandise that infusion from kit and boodle or carnal embrocate color. The formation of oleochemical atomic number 18 from fatty acids, fatty intoxi merchant shipt, methyl esters and glycerol. In Malaysia, oleochemical started from early 1980 s. The Malayan Oleochemical Manufactures Group ( MOMG ) was established in January 1984 when the industry attracted more manufacturer. MOMG uses the renewable natural natural stuff such as palm oil, coco palm oil and medallion subject matters oil which ar environment friendly. collectable to the planetary heating and depleting of dodo fuel, biodiesel im opus be the following great potency as a cost-efficient feed stake for fossil fuel. Palm oil or another(prenominal) vegetable oil can be use to make biodiesel for internal keen engines. After assorted with petro Diesel, biodiesel can utilize in any diesel engine. Normally vehicle industry limit their recommendation to 15 % biodiesel blended with p etro Diesel. In Europe, biodiesel is most common. R & A D have research that biodiesel is more clean energy than fossil fuel, it release less C dioxide, C monoxide and process dioxide after burning. Not merely that, biodiesel is more economical as biodiesel can be use straight without altering or modified the vehicle engine. The magnificence and advantages of Oleochemical Industry ( Biodiesel ) in our SocietyThe oleochemical industry that bring frontwarding biodiesel have unpredictable net income potency since the dodo fuel beginnings are con shopping centreing over the old ages and this pull up stakes do the use of biodiesel additions. Biodiesel is mixable with crude oil based Diesel and this provides several advantages. For illustration, biodiesel can be obtained from a renewable and wide give out handiness of feedstock. Furthermore, biodiesel has the homogeneous energy degree for per gallon like petroleum-based DieselThe biodiesel is produced from works and other organic na tural stuffs and the procedures of bring forthing biodiesel are sufferingless to the Earth compared to boring for oil which ca employ vast amendss to the Earth. Since we able to bring forth biodiesel and cosmos utilise in domestic, on that point are no international complications will be involved. This will assist squawk up our national security. Besides that, it can forestall the planetary state of affairs to impact the monetary value of biodiesel. The chief ground of oleochemical industry can be so successful is because of the alternate biofuel such as biodiesel is a C impersonal one which means it does nt non breathe any C gases in the signifier of C dioxide. As we know C dioxide is the chief part to the nursery gas emanations. Besides that, biodiesel is biodegradable and less harmful than fossil fuel. Due to the lubricating consequence by the biodiesel, the Diesel engine s life-time is last longer and it is more efficiency. Therefore, biodiesel becomes one of the most of im port alternate fuel for burning in Diesel engines. The provision & A Demand of BiodieselDue to the worsening of fossil fuels around the universe, assorted authoritiess all over the universe have passed policies to assist in the fruit and phasing-in of bio-fuels to cut down the ingestion of fossil fuel. For illustration, the United States of America had passed a Renewable Fuel Standard ( RFS ) in 2010 for the production of 650 million gallons of biodiesel in 2010, firearm in Brazil, all gasolene requires around 20-25 % of ethyl alcohol blended into them and since Jan. 1 2010, Brazil had begun a B-5 authorization which requires the phasing in of 5 % biodiesel into fossil fuels. In add-on, due to the EU s ( European Union ) determined policies, biofuel ingestion is set to increase aggressively. Previously, the EU had set a end for all their fellow member states to accomplish a minimal mark of 5.75 % biofuel production by the twelvemonth 2010, which was estimated to be around 14 milli on metric tons, and later increase the sum to 10 % biofuel production by the twelvemonth 2020.South East Asiatic states like Indonesia and the Philippines have besides set a B2.5 authorization which requires the phasing in of 2.5 % biodiesel into fossil fuel Diesels in their internal market. Malaysia has besides implemented a B5 authorization which requires all diesel fuels sold in the state to phase-in 5 % of biodiesel. Therefore, with many states back uping the construct of bring forthing biofuels and the increasing world-wide demand, it shows that puting into the field of the production of biodiesel would be really profitable in the long tally.Costss of bring forthing biodiesel are dependent on the feedstock being used, the biodiesel works design and size, and the manner the works is being operated. Basically, soybean oil and thenar oil are the most normally used feedstock being used in the oleo chemical industry due to their widespread handiness and lowest priced for most of the clip. Although algae are one of the feedstock which can hold a high output of biodiesel, palm oil is still preferred over algae due the high capital of algae.Besides that, states like Indonesia and Malaysia, which in 2012 had preserve approximately 18,500,000 metric dozenss of palm oil produced, will turn out to be worthwhile states to put in for the production of biodiesel due to the fact that there are ample stuffs to bring forth biodiesel. Furthermore, with the deficiency of providers bring forthing biodiesel in the part ( South East Asia ) , to put in this field in the part would turn out to be worth the attempt.Procesess for synthesis of biodiesel from thenarThere are two chief procedure for synthesis of biodiesel from palmi?sPalm Oil Extraction from thenarMechanical ExtractionSolvent ExtractionTraditional Method Of Palm Kernel ExtractionThere are 8 chief procedures for the palm oil declension, those are bunch response, and weighing, clump quartering, bunch sterilisation, cl ump threshing/ denudation, oil thenar fruit digestion, palm oil pressure, palm oil elucidation, palm oil drying and palm oil storage ( Figure 6.1 ) . The extraction of palm oil can be done by three methods a. ) Mechanical Extraction, B. ) Solvent extraction and c. ) Traditional method of palm meats extraction.2. Trans-esterificationTrans-esterification besides known as alcoholysis. It is a chemical procedure that decrease the viscousness of palm oil and bring forth biodiesel by displace inebriant from an ester utilizing another intoxicant. This chemical procedure contains three subsequent reversible reactions I. ) Chemical reaction between triglycerides of palm oil and intoxicant to bring forth diglycerides and ester, two. ) Chemical reaction between diglycerides and intoxicant to bring forth monoglycerides and ester, three. ) Chemical reaction between monoglycerides and intoxicant to bring forth glycerol and ester ( general equation in Figure 6.2 ) . Transesterification can eithe r be performed by the nowadays of flatulency ( catalytic procedure ) or without the nowadays of accelerator ( non-catalytic procedure ) ( Figure 6.3 ) .During the synthesis of biodiesel, there are some safeguard stairss need to be taken to guarantee the whole procedure can be done in safe status. One of the safeguard measure is ever do certain that the armored combat vehicles used in treating biodiesel are in good status. Besides that, do certain that all the electrical powered are non over heated, over-pressurized and improperly installed. Use an detonation cogent evidence ram to reverse from go forthing the motor and prosecute the professionals to put in and keep the pump. The Impact on the EnvironmentThe procedure of deducing oleochemical can be divided into Fat Splitting, Distillation, fractionation by Crystallization, Fractionation by Distillation, Hydrogenation and Ion Exchange. All the stated procedure might hold some impacts on the environment, such asA power works will b e needed to provide a big sum of energy to the oleochemical industry. In order to put in a power works in the mill, infinite and fuel are indispensable. However, fossil fuel is non environment friendly because it will bring forth toxic gases such as CO and SO3, which could do air pollution. Besides, nursery gases such as CO2, O3, H2O bluess, and CH4, released from the power works, farther contribute to greenhouse effects.Natural stuffs are limited. Human may lose from nutrient lack due to inordinate use of animate beings and workss fats as natural stuff for oleochemical industry. Animal fats, being a side watercourse from the meat production, have a limited handiness , said European Oleochemicals & A Allied Products Group. Animal fats cover more than 50 % of the natural stuff demands in the European Oleochemical Industry .The procedures of deducing oleochemicals such as ( splitting, refinement, neutralisation and distillment ) will bring forth heat energy. Since H2O has a really high especial(a) heat capacity, it will be used in chilling system. In the chilling system, heat energy will be convey to the H2O, which increases the temperature of H2O. If we discard the bouncy H2O into river, the temperature will subsequently interrupt the temperature of the river H2O. Even though it could be a really little alteration of temperature, but it may do demise to the aquatic lives due to inadequate temperature which affects the activity of enzymes. There is no cogent evidence that neither natural stuffs nor merchandises are safe to human, animate beings and workss even though it s derived from workss or animate beings beginnings. Therefore, all the natural stuffs and merchandises must be handled with attention by comparative field experts. The handling, storage, and transit of these stuffs should to be managed decently to avoid or minimise the potency for environmental impacts .Pollutant, toxic and nursery gases will do pollution and nursery consequence if we rel ease it straight into atmosphere. Being of So3 and other toxic gases in ambiance can do respiratory jobs on worlds and animate beings. If the waste merchandises of fat dividing procedure such as lipoids, acids and bases were discarded to land, it will do dirt pollution. Plants will be unable to turn and this farther destroys the home ground of the animate beings. When the mill is runing, machines and runing systems will bring forth hindrance and disturb nearby abode. A suited and scheme location which located far off from town and abode country can be used to put the mill.A accelerator such as Pt or Ni may be required to rush up the rate of reaction. These accelerators are expensive and need to be recycled so that we can cut down the costs and besides save the environment. The merchandises might dwell of new and unknown chemicals. To publish the toxicity or other side effects, carnal testing or carnal test can be conducted. This is an inhumane pattern, which may impact the ecosystem if the toxic is spread among the vegetations and zoologies. The worst unmanageable instance is that the chemicals cause malignant neoplastic disease or mutant inside the carnal organic structure and spread among each other. Therefore, the pattern of carnal testing must be carried out in a little graduated table, and the figure of animate being used for proving should be either bit least as possible. Besides, the animate beings must be quarantined and separated from the others, as this could farther minimise biological pollution.Future authorization of the Oleochemical IndustryOleochemical industry is one of the fastest growing industry for biofuels. In the following few old ages, merchandises produced by oleochemical industry are expected to replace those from petrochemicals. around of the oleochemical industry are based on thenar and palm meat oils, so other new natural stuff beginnings are hoped to be represent out to replace them, which are cheaper and easy to be obtained. To protect the female parent Earth, costs of production should non be the first consideration while the environmental impact of a chemical to the user and environment is anticipated to be more of import. Environmental issues such as biodegradation, non-toxicity and life rhythm analysis are the chief consideration that will be used in the hereafter to find whether a chemical should be commercially produced or non.Biotechnology aslo every bit known as biotransformation procedure is used to bring forth basic oleochemicals and intermediate merchandises that based on chemical procedures. This will be the future tense engineering and will be used to bring forth functionality oleochemicals.DecisionThe universe is confronting the depleting of fossil fuels, so the demand of oleochmical merchandises will go on transcend the supply. Oleochemical plays a really of import function in supplying an alternate to replace the dodo fuels because the merchandises of oleochemical are environmental friendl y. However, mass feats of this industry will still harm the environment to a certain extent. Hence, safeguard steps must be taken and careful deliberation over the issues that will go on in the first place it creates a job to our society.Mention1 ) Jibrail B Kansedo, University Sains Malaysia, Synthesis Of Biodiesel From Palm Oil And Sea Mango Oil Using Sulfated Zirconia Catalyst. lendable from & lt hypertext ravishee protocol //eprints.usm.my/15765/1/SYNTHESIS_OF_BIODIESEL_FROM_PALM_OIL_AND_SEA_MANGO_OIL_USING_SULFATED_ZIRCONIA_CATALYST.pdf & gt July 2009 2 ) Siti Fatimah Arifin, University Malaysia Pahang, Faculty Of Chemical And Natural Resources Engineering, mathematical product Of Biodiesel From Waste Cooking Oil And RBD Palm Oil Using Batch Transesterification Process. Which Allied Power Contributed the Most in Ww2
All Allied Power contributed to making the Nazis power fall by supplied men and fought with honor to shoot down the Nazis. Each Country gave something which made them a major contributor in WW2. The Soviet fusion lost one thousand millions of men each battle. They lost the most soldiers and civilians in WW2. fall in States was the largest supplier of material. They were the reason allied power had material to fight each battle. Britain gave the most navy support . Their navy contributes to blocking the Germans from supplies and helps destroy the Nazis navy which had help defeat Germany.Every Country has an extreme amount of dedication and support to help the Allied power conquer the Nazis but in my Opinion the Soviet Union made the biggest contribution to winning WW2. In WW2 over 23 million Soviet military & civilians were killed. The Battle of Stalingrad was the bloodiest battle in human history, over 1. 5 million Russian solider and civilians died. The United States and The Un ited Kingdom deads combined does not reach a million . United soil lost over 450,900 people and United States lost 418,500. Together they lost approximately 869,400 people.I am not saying United States and United Kingdom deaths werent important as Soviet Union deaths. Every death deserve honor. I just rely Soviet Union have up a massive amount of its people in WW2. Soviet Union was a big country it had a population168, 524,000 in 1939. United States had a population of 131,028,000. United Kingdom had a population of 47,760,000. Russian lost 14. 2% of its population in WW2. You may say that not a lot but signify of it this way 23,000,000 away of 168,524,000 people. That includes soldiers and civilians. You might still say that not a lot well let try this. The United States lost 418,500 people in WW2 out of 131, 028,000. That is approximately half of a million people the United States lost in the fight. That is . 32 of United States population. United Kingdom lost 450,900 out of 4 7,760,000. that is . 94 % of the United Kingdom population. That is also another half of million people the United Kingdom lost in the world together that makes a million. Now how a million lives for 2 countries compare to 23 million lives lost one country.Think of it this way million out of 23 million, a million is 0. 04 of 23 million. A million is not even a full percent to compare to the massive loss of 23 million people. I believe everyone on the Allied Side deserve Glory for they all contribute to the defeat of Nazi army , but I believe Soviet Union gave the biggest contribution for the Allies Power . If Soviet Union solider and people didnt sacrifice their lives and fight to defeat the Nazi, It could have been a totally different war that could of lead to a billions more deaths all over the world.

Night Essay
Comp are the hanging of the youth from Warsaw and the hanging of the execrable eyed nonsuch and explain, using take the stand from t here and elsewhere in Night, why Elie Reacted differently to the two hangings. Elie Wiesels Night is a memoir of his horrifying childhood experiences of pathetic as a Jew in the concentration camps. Eliezer was found to suffer in many camps, and during this time he witnessed the daily sufferings and deaths of many humans. His faith faltered as a result, and after so much pain he grew apathetic to the withering away of mortal life.By the ratiocination of the book nothing re all in ally surprises Elizer anymore because he knew anything could go across at any moment. How invariably, Eliezers reaction towards hanging of the youth from Warsaw was different from the hanging of the sad eyed angel. Eliezers faith faltered daily when he witnesses the death of many innocent lives including the hanging of the youth from Warsaw, simply he never loses his hope or questions the existence of God until he witnesses the hanging of the sad eyed angel. Eliezer witnesses many death during his time in concentration camps, and he never wept once, even when he witnesses the hanging of the youth from Warsaw. This young boy is exposit as tall and strong. Supposedly, he had stolen something during the alert in the concentration camp. Looking back at his slaying, Eliezer expresses his feeling about the hanging saying that it upset him late (Wiesel 62) in a way quite distinct from his knowledge of the thousands who died daily in the camps.Elizer was disturb by the hanging because he did not lost all of his faith and hope, he still have humanity so thats why he feels upset when he witness people die, deep in his heart faith and hope were just broken, now after witness the hanging of the youth from Warsaw he found the broken pieces of hope that is why that flush after the execution he finds the soup tasted better than ever (Wiesel 63). Another rea son that Eliezer finds the soup taste better is because he was actually acceptable that it was not him or his father toward the execution.Elizer realize that death is everywhere in concentration camp, and it could be either him or his father next time stand up on the gallows. He is thankful that he still alive at that moment and can is still eating his ration of soup, although he knows that he could be in line next to get hang in the gallows. Eliezer also felt the youth from Warsaw brought the death on themselves. He realizes that there are rules in the concentration camp that you can never disobey, if you break the rules in the camp, you will be killed. Where is merciful God, where is He? (Wiesel 64) It was another solar day when Eliezer return from create and roll call begins. There were three gallows for three prisoners that are going to be hang on the gallows for conspiring to blow up the electric power station, but among the three prisoners there is a little pipel in the mid dle, the sad eyed angel. At every hanging, no one in the audience will ever shed a tear or weep, but the hanging of the sad eyed angel affected not only Eliezer but many others.During the execution all eyes were on the child, the two men died immediately, but the child was too light and so he remained for more than half an hour, lingering betwixt life and death. (Wiesel 65) The hanging pained Eliezer so much and it makes him wonder how God can be present in a world with such cruelty, he question the present of God and when he heard a voice saying For Gods sake, where is God? (Wiesel 65) he answers Where He is? This is where hanging here from this gallows (Wiesel 65).Following the death of the sad eyed angel Eliezer thinks that was the death of God as well. That night, the soup tasted of corpses (Wiesel 65), after witness the hanging of the sad eyed angel Wiesel finds the soup tasted like corpses and also like death, the death of God. The sad eyed angel represent a symbol of silen t which God is presents as in the novel Night. God was a symbol of silence in the novel because when Eliezer and the other Jewish people cries out for Gods aid and mercy, their recreate were left unanswered. The God in Night did not save them from cruelty and death, God has remained silence throughout the novel, so when the angel was hanged Eliezers relates the death of angel to the death of God, as he meant that God was hanging upon the gallows and had abandoned them. Eliezer realizes that the Nazis were coming closely to destroy his faith in God and so he was inefficient to enjoy anything because he thinks that life, hope, and joy could not be reach because all goodness had been destroyed. Ive got more faith in Hitler than in anyone else.Hes the only one whos keeping his promises, all his promises to the Jewish people Wiesel 81) Hitler the ultimate evil was conquering the good Jewish people every day through death and destruction. To Eliezer there was no hope for life and no chan ce for survival. He thinks God had abandoned them because there seems to be no end to evil. After witness the hanging of the sad eyed angel, Eliezer was constantly being reminded of death, he feels like death was everywhere in the camp, and when he were forced to draw the hanging of the sad eyed angel, which appeared to be innocent and full of hope, he feels that he was forced to watch innocence and hope die in bet of him.As Eliezer watched the young pipel struggle between life and death he felt that the boy was innocent and he did not deserve to suffer. Eliezer and the young pipel were just about the same age, so when he witnesses the hanging of the young pipel he felt as he shared the pipels pain and suffering and that he was suffering from a slow painful spiritual death as well. The hanging of the young pipel pained Eliezer so much because he knew he could not fork up him. In Elie Wiesels Night the author present a significance of the hanging and the grim elements of the sur roundings in the concentration camp.He express that evening the soup tasted better than ever (Wiesel 63) after he witness the hanging of the youth from Warsaw, and yet after he witness the hanging of the sad eyed angel the soup tasted of corpse. It was trying to present how Eliezers slowly loses his hope and faith in God. Eliezers faith was being challenged under such brutal condition, and many do not get their beliefs put to the test in such extreme condition as Eliezer did, and this leads Eliezer to question his faith. The meaning of hanging in this novel represent the bad conquers good, death and evil become apparent. The goodness that had been present prior to concentration camp had been destroyed through death, evil and abandonment. every killing that Eliezer witness deteriorated his faith and finally after witness the sad eyed angel, it was the end of hope for Eliezer, he finally understood the murderous personality of concentration camp, and he could not walk away unaffected by the hanging. At last, Eliezer walked away as a completely different person than how he entered.

Importance of Library in Our Life Essay
Libraries are only next in importance to schools, colleges and universities as means of educating the man. A depository library is a store-house of books-books of only kinds and on all subjects under the sun. A good modern library usually subscribes to practically all the important newspapers and periodicals. Books, newspapers and periodicals are the main features of a library and they represent the endeavours, achievements and gloriole of writers, statesmen, scientists, philosophers and saints. For a person of average means it is difficult to purchase more than virtuoso or two daily newspapers, but it is the keen desire of enlightened people to know all possible shades of opinion as expressed in several(a) newspapers. The obvious course for them is to visit a library during their leisure and glance through the relevant pages of many newspapers which they think are worth the trouble. Generally a person does not subscribe to more than one or two magazines or periodicals and yet in these days of abundant supply of illustrated and pictorial journals most of us would like to have a compute at the most attractive and interesting among them. This can be done only in a library which usually subscribes to most of the popular magazines. The outdo feature of a library is that it either makes no charge upon the readers or collects a negligible membership fee for making available to them newspapers and journals. This fact is immensely helpful to the ill-paid and poor members of society who, notwithstanding their poverty, are interested in the political, social and religious developments reported by newspapers. To those who are vociferous book readers, a library is all the more useful.Only a very rich man can afford to have a large private exhibition of books, while the desire to read books is now- a-days becoming more and more common. Besides, no private appealingness can be as big, up-to-date, and varied as the collection of books in a library one can find books on history, economics politics, philosophy, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, literature, and languages. As the needs of various readers are different, a library serves a very useful purpose by meeting the requirements of all readers. The poorest man can go to a library, take out any book he needs and read or take notes from it without having to pay for the privilege. In this way, a single library benefits thousands of readers. Again, some books are priced so high that they are beyond the means of average reader, but they are usually to be found in a library. It is evident that a library confers incalculable advantages on the public only if they care to make use of it. A library has always a studious atmosphere. As we enter a library, we find ourselves surrounded by books and readers. We see books of all kinds and sizes reposing in their respective places, and earnest readers eagerly devouring the contents of the books they have picked up from the shelves. What is more, all possi ble facilities are provided to the readers. Comfortable chairs with tables in front, adequate lighting arrangements, and a librarian to help and guide the reader all these factors make the place a veritable sanctuary fit for sluice the most serious and zealous students. A library is even more useful to research students.A research scholar working on a difficult, obscure subject usually needs books that are very expensive and that are often not available in the market. Sometimes he may need to refer to original manuscripts not otherwise available. In all such cases he will find it very advantageous to visit the various libraries and collect his material. It is a stimulus to reading. It helps us develop a reading habit. Since its gates are open to all and sundry, to rich and poor, to professors and students, to scholars and lay-a-taste in books. In short, a library is a standing invitation to the public to come and read books as well as newspapers and periodicals. There is a wide cho ice of books and the library helps us to escape from the practical necessities of this world. And while there is a charge for traveling m a bus, for entering a cinema or a circus, for perceive a cricket match, there is no such charge for entering a library and becoming engrossed in a book.

Favorite Teacher Essay
Choosing a favorite teacher is fairly severe when one puts into account all the types of teachers they have known, all of them are grievous. Teachers are the second roughly important people in our lives, right after our parents. Teachers are persuasive and have the power to build a child up from an immature student to become a responsible adult or they can all told and utterly crush a students hopes and dreams. As an identical twin my mother has unceasingly pulled a few strings to have my sister and me in the same classes through with(predicate)out mere(a) aim.We were absolutely insepar adapted. Transitioning from elementary to middle school was a milestone for me. Every class I was placed in was contrary from my sisters. I was friendless, and at times I felt hopeless scrambling to find friends I was overwhelmed by the turmoil of the middle school system. At my locker I forgot a key ingredient, the combination completely overloaded with homework, tests and loneliness, I sit down at my locker and sobbed. It was there I crossed paths with one of the most important people I have ever known. The first time I met Ms.Reagan was when she gave the upcoming middle-schoolers a tour of the school the summer before my sixth grade year. She was short, thin and had an intelligent look. She seemed truly interest in me, given my mother had met her on vacation a few geezerhood keystone. Ms. Reagan assured my distressed mother I would do perfectly fine in a new environment without my sister. However, when school began, so did my problems. Mr. Wolff was my sixth grade English teacher, as an advanced English student the first try he assigned was rather demanding.Struck by writers block, I was only able to conquer five pages of the assigned six-page essay. Mr. Wolff asked for a word after class obliging I listened to him spurt about how he expected more out of me than five pages of redundancy. I left the classroom with a rigid, seemingly emotionless expression. I we nt to my only friend, my locker, and began to sob when I remembered I had forgotten my combination. Walking back from the teachers lounge, Ms.Reagan calmly asked me to explain my dilemma she offered support and assured me I would do well, promising me I would become friends. I left school that day consoled and filled with a newborn hope that I would promotion through the sixth grade successfully after all it was just the third day of school. subsequently a few weeks of attending middle school, I began to gain friends they were not comparable to my twin, but they were accepting. I listened to what Ms. Reagan had mentioned to me and I was able to gain more and more friends I today refer to as my close-hauled friends. With Ms. Reagans advice I was able to conquer my fears of having no friends, and I finally was able to master the dreaded locker combination. Ms. Reagan is the embodiment of a leader and sets an endless example of respect and commitment for her current students and st udents of years prior. She treats everyone with kindness and compassion and is always willing to give advice to anyone. Most importantly, she believes in herself as a teacher and, in turn, her students learn to believe in themselves.I have been able to acquire this knowledge of Ms. Reagan through various lunch visits when I was unable to find a table. We spoke of our families, futures, travels and opinions. Although it has been years since I sat in her classroom, Ms. Reagan continues to affect me in a very meaningful way. In the summer we often go to the same part of Newport during the same time she often walks past my house, and even on the hottest of days, she will always stop at the end of my driveway just to chat.In return, when I get the chance, I the likes of to stop by to visit her after school lets out just to catch up for a little bit and fill her in on the latest news in my life. However, although our conversations may be few and far between, they always make for memorable moments. As I continue to get older, I cannot help looking back and reminiscing about my days as an elementary student. I feel favored for having such an unforgettable childhood and thankful for the people that were apart of it. Ms. Reagan has always been more than an educator to me, and I am so blessed to have her as a part of my life.

Explain Kants Ethical theories Essay
Kants ethical theory is an absolute and deontological theory. This means that humans are seek the ultimate end called the supreme good also known as the summon Bonnum. Kant says that morality is a categorical imperative, this is a duty which must always be obeyed in all possible situations. A categorical imperative is what is needed to find what is right or wrong. Kant argued that to act morally is to do mavins duty, and ones duty is to obey the moral law.Kant also believe that there was no room for emotion. Kant believe that categorical imperative helps us to know which actions are obligatory and which are forbidden. thither are three principles within the categorical imperatives these include Universal law, Treat humans as ends In themselves and consummation as if you live in a kingdom of ends. Universal law is putting minority views first. If it is wrong for one mortal than it is wrong for everyone. An action must not be carried out unless the person believes that the same si tuation all people would act in the same way.Treat humans as ends in themselves is respecting a person. This means that you can never use human beings for another purpose or to exploit or enslave them, this is because humans are the highest point of creation and demand unique treatment. Act as if you live in a kingdom of ends, this means treat all with respect. Kant believed that all of these helped to give rise maxims. A maxim is an absolute moral statement about a universal truth. For example a maxim Murder is wrong. Therefore it is a universal rule that murdering anyone is wrong. Kant believes that we can only be square(a) moral agents if we are free to make our own decisions. He argues that our freedom to make rational choices is what separates us from animals. He says that is you can do something, you should be able to do something, and if you cannot do something it is foul to be asked. E.g. it is unfair to ask someone in a wheelchair to run a marathon.

Letter from Birmingham, Martin Luther King Jr.
Just Arguments in the Battle against Segregation If I have verbalise anything in this letter that overstates the truth and indicates an unreasonable impatience, I beg you to forgive me. If I have tell anything that understates the truth and indicates my having patience, I beg God to forgive me ( superpower 301). Martin Luther exponent Jr. writes an argumentative letter defend demonstrations against segregation. While serving eight days in prison for participating in protests in Birmingham, poove writes his famous Letter from Birmingham Jail (293). poof is utile at careen his case because he provides counter arguments, gives more examples of real life situations, and reflects on statements made. King begins by providing background and explaining the true purpose of non-violent direct- work demonstrations. In the letter, King refutes the arguments made by clergy, which were untimely action, breaking laws, direct-actions precipitate violence, extremist, and commended police. King explains that he traveled to Birmingham to participate in non-violent protest against segregation, stating in retributiveice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere (289).King responds to the clergy by saying, your statement fails to stockpile a similar concern for the conditions that brought about the demonstrations (289). King continues by explaining the four basic steps of non-violent direct-action, which atomic number 18 collection of the facts to determine whether injustices exist negotiation self purification and direct-action (290). While providing coarse detail on the situation and steps taken, King continues to build his argument against the statements made by the clergy. The first statement was that the action taken in Birmingham was untimely. In the letter, King provides great details about the planning and execution of the demonstration, which shows that much aspect was placed on the timing of the protest and explained that it was, in fact, not untimely. King uses a very effective method to evoke personal feelings by writing a long list of heart-throbbing experiences of Negro concourse during segregation (289-292). Next, King refutes the second statement that demonstrators break laws. King explains that there are two types of laws just and unjust (293). Kings reflecting help the reader understand his arguments (293-294).The third statement from the clergy says the direct-actions precipitate violence. King states he does not advocate breaking the law. However, King submits that an individual who breaks a law that conscience tells him is unjust, and who willingly accepts the penalisation of imprisonment in order to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the highest observe for law (294). The fourth statement is condemning the actions in Birmingham as extreme. King counters by providing examples where extreme measures were winning to right an injustice, such as with Abe Lincoln and freeing the sl aves (296-297).Finally, King addresses how the clergy commended the police force for keeping order. King responds with examples during the demonstrations in which the police acted inhumane (300-301). By providing considered and well formulated arguments, King is effective at arguing his case against segregation. King addresses any possible counter arguments on his stance and does so in great detail. By reflecting on statements made, King allows the reader to fully understand his arguments and point of view. The Letter from Birmingham Jail is an resplendently structured argumentative letter against segregation.
